Marilyn's is the culmination of elements that followed my Holy, Holy, Holy performance. After destroying the piano, I began thinking of how my relationship with my mother had undergone such a change, a wedge had been driven between us, since I left the faith of my childhood. I began drawing images of the Virgin Mary utilizing the lithographic printmaking process in an attempt to process this change. Each individual Mary representative for each prayer I have ever said, ultimately papering the walls of the gallery space.  Even though I am now without religious faith, the action of rendering Mary became a form of prayer, I found comfort in the repetition.  I realized that this interaction between religion, my mother, and me is a game. Every chess piece is a queen, a mother, forged from the iron foundation of my piano, my faith – making for a game that cannot be won.
