Hair Series (2022)

The Hair Series is based on memories I have of my mother and the feminine ideals she engrained in me growing up. As a little girl, I remember being fascinated watching her put on her makeup or exercise. I unearth objects passed down in my family and collect strange and often obsolete items from dumpsters and thrift stores. Often, I am not sure why I am drawn to an object, but by working with it in the studio I begin remembering and unearthing memories long buried within my psyche.
