A Family Photo Album (2022)
This body of work resulted from a printer “failure” resulting in a beautiful and occasionally grotesque lens upon which to view alternative realities/narratives of a family.

Through altering these images and displaying them for scrutiny over a lightbox, I embrace the dissonance, foggy memories, and conflicting narratives. Reconstructing.

"Whose version of family life do you inhabit in your family? How do you know anything about your own history - most of all the history of your subjectivity, and the part that images have played in its construction?" - Jo Spence

"The camera introduces us to unconscious optics as does psychoanalysis to unconscious impulses." - Walter Benjamin
